Community Guidelines
Effective September 12, 2026 · Last updated September 12, 2026
These guidelines cover reviews, owner responses, and every other community feature on BudFinderKC — what we ask of you, what gets removed, and how we decide.
Who this is for
BudFinderKC is for adults 21 and older. You need an account and a confirmed 21+ age check to post a review, respond to one, or take part in anything else on the community side of the site. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 21, we close it.
That 21+ line applies to every visitor, with no medical exception — Missouri’s medical program does not lower the age at which someone may hold a BudFinderKC account, and neither do we.
Reviews that help
The best reviews are specific and first-hand: what you actually bought, what the staff was like, how the wait went, whether the listing’s hours or menu matched what you found. "Great store" tells the next person nothing; a note about what was in stock and how the budtender helped you choose does.
Keep it recent — a review of a visit from two years ago is less useful to someone deciding where to go this weekend than one from last month — and keep it honest, negative included. A genuine bad experience is exactly the kind of review this site exists to carry.
If you have any connection to the business you are reviewing — you work there, you own it, you are related to someone who does, a competitor asked or paid you to write it — say so. We ask at submission, and a "yes" carries a visible disclosure badge on the review.
What gets removed
We remove:
- Reviews written in exchange for a discount, free product, points, or any other incentive — from us or from the business
- A review of your own business, or of a competitor’s
- Personal attacks on an individual rather than a review of the business
- Someone else’s private information — phone numbers, addresses, or employment details they did not choose to share publicly
- Medical claims or specific dosing advice, from a reviewer or a business
- Content describing or offering an illegal transaction
- Spam, and content clearly generated to game a rating rather than describe an experience
- Content attractive to minors — imagery or language that reads as marketed to anyone under 21
A negative but genuine review is never, on its own, a reason for removal — see the closing note below on what paid placement can and cannot buy.
How moderation works
Every review is read by a person before it goes live — we do not auto-publish and clean up later. That is slower than most sites, and it is deliberate: it is the only way we can promise that what is public reflects our written rules rather than a business’s preference.
If a review is held or removed, you can appeal by writing to us at hello@wabbit.com. A person who is not the reviewer and not the business makes the call, and we log the reason, the timestamp, and who decided — for removals and for appeals alike.
Business owners can respond publicly to any review of their listing, and can flag a review they believe breaks one of the rules above for us to look at. Flagging puts a human in the loop — it does not remove anything by itself, and it is not a way to make an unwelcome but genuine review disappear.
Budtenders and community features — coming later
We are building profile and staff-pick features for budtenders and expanding community features over time. When they launch, the rules in this document apply to them too — a staff pick will always carry a visible, non-removable note that it comes from someone who works there, the same disclosure a review needs when the reviewer has a connection to the business.
A staff pick is never merged into a listing’s star rating or review count. It is its own kind of content, labeled as what it is, same as a sponsored placement is labeled as what it is.
Consequences
A first violation usually means the content comes down and you hear from us about why. Repeated or serious violations — fake reviews, harassment, doxxing, offering an illegal transaction — can mean your account is suspended or terminated outright, without a warning first if the violation is serious enough. We keep a log of the reason and decision-maker for every action we take, whether it is a single removal or an account-level consequence, so the record of why something happened outlasts the argument about it.
How to report
See a review that breaks a rule above, or a listing that looks wrong? Use the flag on the review itself, or write to us at hello@wabbit.com with a link and what is wrong. We read every report.
What paid placement never buys
Featured and Premier placement change where a listing appears on the page and how it is labeled. They never change what reviews say, how many there are, what order they show in, or whether they are visible at all. A business paying us more gets better placement, clearly marked as paid — never better reviews.
